Divergent Church Canberra is passionate about being a local expression of Jesus kingdom. It is a different kingdom, not one of this world or it’s practices and principles. Jesus kingdom is divergent, it is a kingdom where hate is overcome by love, where truth stands out from falsehood, where faith replaces fear. It is not a kingdom that can be experienced simply within the confines of a Sunday event but something seen in the people of God expressing the character of God in everydaylife.
At Divergent Church Canberra and Queanbeyan we believe Church is not simply an event you attend but a community of people living out the life of Christ, for his cause, acting as catalyst’s to bless a world that does not know Jesus.
Our mission is built on the Great Commandment (Matt 22:37 – 40), Great Commission (Matt 28:18 – 20), Great Example (Acts 2:38 – 47) and Great Vision (Rev 7:9 – 12).
We do not seek to run a plethora of consumer based programs or become competitors to the entertainment industry, though we seek to do our best in everything we do as acts of worship. Our desire is to see people become like Christ, to be ”All in Disciples devoted to his Kingdom Come’.
